This series explores how color shapes our emotional connection to place. Drawn from moments at the edges of day—sunrise, sunset, and the quiet hours between—these photographs focus on atmosphere rather than description. Horizon lines, silhouettes, and simplified forms allow color to become the subject, transforming familiar landscapes into spaces of reflection and feeling.

The work considers how certain moments of light can suspend time, creating a sense of presence that is both immediate and deeply personal. A shoreline at dusk, a mountain ridge at dawn, or the distant glow of navigation lights across dark water become less about location and more about perception—how memory, mood, and experience influence what we believe we see.

By reducing the landscape to its most essential elements, Held by Color invites viewers to move beyond observation and into emotional recognition. These images are not simply records of place, but studies of how color can hold us in a moment—quietly, completely, and often long after the light has passed.

Each image becomes a dialogue between observation and memory. Tonal shifts, textures, and physical imperfections are part of the story, reminding us that a photograph is not merely documentation but an object with presence—a vessel for reflection.
