Blue Shade is part of Pause, my non-series series. There are moments I come across that don’t quite fit into any of my other series. They stand alone, yet they all share something familiar: a feeling worth stopping for.
That’s what Pause is about—those times when I slow down long enough to notice something that stirs a memory or reminds me of how connected we are to the world around us. I’ve been doing that since I was a kid—being outside, looking, noticing. Decades later, I’m still at it, still growing up, still trying to understand.
Each of these images means something to me, and I like to think they’ll mean something to someone else. Memories, experiences, and emotions complete the picture. That’s the beauty of a pause—it gives space for reflection.
